The Murphy Bed was invented in 1916 by William L. Murphy. Similar to a fold out couch bed, Murphy beds fold out of the wall, closet or furniture cabinets. Murphy beds are used for space-saving purposes and are traditionally seen in motels, dormitories, children's bedrooms and guest rooms. It's also compatible with any standard mattress and is just as comfortable as any other mattress in your home. Adding a wallbed to a room in your home can make it a useful living area.
